Just wanted your opinions on what could be wrong before proceeding. I suppose I can try installing v169.26 again, but I don't want to break my system. For now, I have re-reformatted, and just have the Everex driver installed.Īny ideas? I would like some better performance than whatever the manufacturer's driver can give out. Maybe I should have used the 'Roll back driver' feature in Device Manager. When I tried to uninstall v185.85 (via Add/remove progs), it did not fix the issue.
Also, when I use the crappy driver from the manufacturer, the mouse behavior doesn't happen either. However, when I first got this laptop (7-17-07), I used a driver from here, I'm guessing v169.26, and I did not see this issue. I saw this behavior before on a driver I used from here, so I don't think it's just v185.85. The mouse's icon stays in place somewhere on the screen, but an invisible cursor continues to move around, fully functional.
If/when the mouse freezes, it's only partially frozen.
Reinstalled XP Pro and the latest driver from here (185.85). So, I just got my laptop back from the manufacturer (Everex) where the mobo was replaced.
